Midnight is the time that represents Doomsday. Speakers at the event included Bill Nye (the Science Guy), who said, “For decades, scientists have been warning us of the dangers facing humankind.

The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists maintained its iconic “Doomsday” clock at 90 seconds until midnight, the closest to midnight the clock has ever been, in a virtual announcement on January 23.

“We could be facing catastrophe unless we better manage the technologies we've created,” said Bill Nye, who participated in the January 23 Doomsday Clock announcement.
