Six counties in New Jersey have been placed under a severe thunderstorm watch Tuesday because of the threat of strong storms that could produce large hail, heavy downpours and damaging wind gusts of 60 mph or stronger.

The severe thunderstorm has weakened below severe weather thresholds. Some rain, as well as small hail, is still possible.
