During her statue unveiling, South Carolina basketball's Dawn Staley celebrated A'ja Wilson, the assumed target of UConn coach Geno Auriemma's words.

Dawn Staley has edged her name in the history books as the South Carolina women’s basketball coach with three national championships. On Wednesday, the city of Columbia unveiled her very own statue that showed her being on the latter and cutting down the net.

The honor for the North Philadelphia native was first announced in February of last year, with Staley revealing at the time that “it wasn’t anything that I politicked for.”
