Gateway Church founder Robert Morris appeared before an Osage County, Oklahoma, judge for a short court hearing Friday morning on child sexual abuse charges.

Robert Morris, the founder of Southlake-based Gateway Church, one of the nation's largest congregations, is scheduled to appear before a judge Friday in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, on charges of sexually abusing a child in the 1980s.

Morris, who resigned last year from the Gateway megachurch, was indicted and arrested on five different counts of lewd or indecent acts to a child in March. He is set to make his first court appearance May 9.
