Now, with Bayern having missed out on several targets this summer, Nkunku is back on their radar, according to the report. Chelsea are reportedly open to selling the versatile forward, whom they signed from RB Leipzig for €60 million in 2023. Nkunku scored 15 goals and provided five assists in 46 appearances during the 2024/25 season.

For Bayern, the failed pursuit is another setback in their transfer strategy, after receiving a clear rejection from Stuttgart for the Woltemade transfer. Unless there is a late turnaround in talks, Christopher Nkunku looks set to remain at Stamford Bridge when the transfer window closes.
Nkunku hasn’t pushed for a move away from Chelsea, but will welcome the chance to talk to interested parties, and Bayern want to bring him back to Germany. The Blues won’t stand in his way either, but David Ornstein claims “Chelsea will insist” on a permanent deal. They are also demanding at least £50 million for the Frenchman.
Chelsea want Xavi Simons – a player apparently also on Bayern’s radar – and the possible sale of Nkunku could help fund a move for the Netherlands international. The reporter suggests Chelsea are expecting a fee of around €40 million (£34.5m) plus add ons for Nkunku.
