With Luis Arráez suffering a concussion after an ugly collision at first base, Padres manager Mike Shildt says common sense dictates MLB explore having two first bases.

Arráez was attempting to reach on a bunt in the first inning when he collided with Astros second baseman Mauricio Dubon at first base. Arráez appeared to take Dubon's shoulder to his head and was down on the ground for several minutes.

During a Starkville podcast appearance, Shildt said MLB should consider implementing college baseball's "double first base rule."
