With the addition of six-time All-Star DeWanna Bonner, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever look like legitimate WNBA championship contenders.

Caitlin Clark is returning to Iowa — this time to play an exhibition game with the Indiana Fever. The Fever will take on the Brazilian National Team at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on May 4 as part of its preseason schedule, the WNBA team announced Thursday.

After re-signing two-time All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell to keep the team's elite backcourt together, the Indiana Fever have agreed to a deal with free agent forward Natasha Howard, according to Alexa Philippou.

The first move Fever president Kelly Krauskopf and general manager Amber Cox made was dismissing head coach Christie Sides after two seasons with the team. This paved the way for Connecticut Sun coach Stephanie White to join the team. To kick off free agency, the Fever made Kelsey Mitchell a priority, bringing back the two-time All-Star.

In an unexpected free agency move, veteran All-Star DeWanna Bonner is reportedly signing with the Indiana Fever, per ESPN's Alexa Philippou. Bonner, a shooting guard/small forward, will join Indiana as a free agent after five seasons with the Connecticut Sun.

The move follows a series of transactions that bolstered an Indiana team coming off a first-round WNBA playoff exit in Clark's rookie season. The team re-signed franchise player Kelsey Mitchell, traded for Sophie Cunningham and signed veteran free agent Natasha Howard.
