The Golden Globes will no longer pay a $75,000 salary to its legacy voting members, Deadline confirmed Friday. The decision impacts about 50 members, we hear, and there is a severance payment involved to meet “contractual obligations to the voters,” a Globes spokesperson said.

President Helen Hoehne informed an estimated 50 members that they'd receive severance as the awards show brand aims to do away with the practice of paying its voting body.

There are currently 300 members in the Globes voting body. The $75,000 salaries were laid out in a five-year deal for ex-HFPA members who were carried over when a 2023 corporate purchase turned the Golden Globes into a for-profit venture owned by Todd Boehly and Jay Penske’s Penske Media Eldridge,
