Songwriter Jake Holmes has filed litigation surrounding the song's use in the Becoming Led Zeppelin documentary.

Holmes wrote and recorded "Dazed and Confused" in 1967, and Page allegedly heard the tune in August of that year after the singer-songwriter opened for the Yardbirds in Greenwich Village (the track also appeared on Holmes' 1967 album,

Following a 2010 lawsuit, it was agreed that Led Zeppelin’s track ‘Dazed And Confused’ was inspired by an earlier song of the same name by Jake Holmes. He now claims that a performance of the song by The Yardbirds in a recent Led Zeppelin documentary used his version,
