Cody Balmer, accused of burning the Pennsylvania Governor's Residence, had "political motivation" connected to the conflict in Gaza, documents say.

Cody Balmer had in recent years struggled with problems in his home life as well as issues stemming from problems covering his own home mortgage, according to court records reviewed by ABC News.

Still, some members of the Jewish community, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.), have raised concern over the timing — during Passover — and the fact Balmer told police he was “harboring a hatred” for the governor.
