Down 3-1 in the third period and facing going back to Los Angeles down 3-1 in the series, the Oilers got two goals from defenseman Evan Bouchard, the tying goal coming with 29 seconds left in regulation, before Leon Draisaitl won it with 1:42 left in the first overtime.

Calvin Pickard has been tabbed to replace Stuart Skinner as the Oilers’ starter with the team down 2-0 ahead of Game 3 of their first-round series against the Los Angeles Kings.

With their backs against the wall, it’s now or never for the Edmonton Oilers who are heading into game three of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs down 2–0 in the series.
