The crash between a semi and van happened just before 10:30 a.m. on I-270 south near the U.S. 33 interchange. The semi driver died at the scene.

Expect traffic delays around Interstate 270 south at Georgetown Road after rescue crews responded to a crash in the area, according to the Montgomery County Fire Department.

The accident on Interstate 270 south near Route 109 in Clarksburg has moved out of the main roadway, but police said delays still continue, with traffic backed up for several miles.

Eastbound drivers will be routed from I-76 to 74th Avenue to Vasquez Boulevard and then back to I-270. Alternate routes will be posted along the affected interstate highways as well as U.S. 36.
