Tesla blocked shareholders who own less than 3% of its shares from suing its directors or officers on behalf of the electric vehicle maker for breach of duties, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday.

Tesla stock was rising early Thursday as investors looked to the future.Shares of the electric-vehicle maker were up nearly 3% at $344, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average were up 0.2%.

Tesla shares rallied this week alongside the broader market, with the electric vehicle maker's stock posting gains for the fourth consecutive week.
