Chicago ended its use of ShotSpotter last fall. In Seattle, Mayor Bruce Harrell advocated for using acoustic gunshot detection technology before backing off of plans for a pilot program last year.
The Little Rock City Board chose not to renew a contract with the company that runs ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection technology used by police.
Arguments for and against were made to the Little Rock Board of Directors on Tuesday as they debated on whether or not the city should renew a $188,000 contract for ShotSpotter Technology.
