A squirrel ran onto the field at Yankee Stadium and caused a brief delay during the game between New York and Boston.

The Yankees offense was overmatched again by Brayan Bello — as well as Aroldis Chapman, who closed out the game in the ninth.

Midway through the fourth inning of the Yankees’ game against the Red Sox on Friday, a squirrel darted across the field, causing a brief interruption in play. The Yankees’ broadcasting booth first noticed the squirrel when it ran into Red Sox outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia while he was at the plate.

The squirrel emerged near the Red Sox dugout on the third-base line, running into Boston’s rookie outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia before making his way to the mound. Fried then stood and watched the squirrel make himself at home, standing for a few moments on the dirt before scampering off toward first base.
