Pretty much every major rumor about the Switch 2 turned out to be true so far. And now a new Nintendo has confirmed another exciting one.

If we had to judge by the included diagrams, the trigger and bumper on each controller would act as the mouse click. Multiple included images show a hand with the thumb on the joystick. Multiple parts of the patent mention the use of the thumbstick, and we suspect it could act as the scroll wheel or serve some other scrolling function.

From a new matte coating to an additional USB-C port, a lot of long-rumored features were confirmed by Nintendo's Switch 2 announcement trailer. Among the most exciting, however, were the mysterious new system button, larger size, magnetic Joy-Con, and an improved kickstand that could finally make tabletop play more viable for the console.

VGC reports that a new patent Nintendo filed suggests you can rotate the Switch 2 screen and still attach its bigger-than-before controllers. Of course, the OG Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons slid into place via a rail that made a satisfying snapping sound, but the hybrid-handheld's successor is using a slightly different method.
