Max Homa doesn't just need a PGA Tour win to keep his playoff hopes alive, but his wife's looming due date makes it even more pressing.

Homa has definitely stepped up this week. “It’s definitely the best 36 holes off the tee I’ve had in a while consecutively, so that’s nice,” he said after Friday’s round.

Homa was one of the early second-round starters at the Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club on Friday, and he shot a 2-under-par 70 to leave him at 3-under for the tournament.

In Homa's most recent appearance at the Rocket Classic, in 2023, he finished tied for 21st after posting a score of 15-under. Cam Davis won this tournament in 2024, finishing at 18-under.

Max Homa will tee off at TPC Deere Run July 3-6, 2025, for the John Deere Classic. This marks his first appearance at the tournament in the past five years.
