KERR COUNTY, Texas — A devastating scene unfolded in the Hill Country on the Fourth of July as dozens of people, including children, died after major flooding in Kerr County. That number is expected to increase as search-and-rescue operations continue this weekend and beyond.

The parents of a third Austin child confirmed Friday that their daughter died at Camp Mystic in Kerr County after floodwaters swept through the campground along the Guadalupe River in Hunt.

Her father, Ty Badon, joined the search for his daughter in Hunt, Texas, and told CNN that while calling out her name he ended up discovering the body of a young boy, who is believed to have died in the flood. Husband and wife Bobby Martin, 46, and Amanda Martin, 44, also lost their lives, Mr Martin's father told the New York Times.

Kerr County is looking at how much warning was given before the flood and how to prevent the next disaster, while donations pour in for flood victims.

Gary and DeeAnn Knetsch were camping directly next to the Guadalupe River with their son, Jake Moeller, his wife, Megan and their five-year-old daughter, Harley. Gary, DeeAnn, Jake and Megan all lost their lives. Harley is still among the missing.
