The chief magistrate judges in Haralson and Heard counties resigned this week under investigation of alleged misconduct. They'd just won reelection to four-year terms.

The Georgia Senate voted in favor of a bill allowing bail bonds business owners to hold local office. It is the first bill to pass a chamber this year.
