Western Massachusetts residents paid their respects to Pope Francis as he was laid to rest in Rome on Saturday. A mass in Springfield was held in his honor.

Haverhill police said the vehicle fire also resulted in an adjacent home catching fire, which displaced multiple people.

Firefighters said the crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday in a construction zone on the eastbound side of the highway near Mile Marker 106 in Westborough.
