The average U.S. city price of a dozen large grade A eggs, not seasonally adjusted, in February was $5.90, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That's up from $4.95 in January and $4.14 in December.
Egg prices reach record high as costs jump 10.4% last month
Experts believe that the price will continue to rise in the following months. The U.S. Agriculture Department reported in February that they expect the price of eggs will go up 41.1% this year.
