The Book of Ruth is based upon the lives of two women, an older Israelite woman named Naomi and her daughter-in-law Ruth, a Moabite.

Ruth Parkander Clokey Goodell, producer of the animated television series, "Davey and Goliath," died December 28th, 2008, from Alzheimer's disease. She was 85. A memorial service was held January 7th.
