A busy Upstate bridge has temporarily closed as work for the new "diverging diamond interchange" nears completion.

The SC-290 bridge, located in Duncan, closed to drivers Friday night so crews could work on a new traffic pattern.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation said the bridge on SC-290 in Spartanburg County will close Friday night for construction.
