Back in the 1930s, deep in the Depression Era and way before safety regulations, the Iowa State Fair staged attractions today's audiences wouldn't believe.

The event planned for August provides low-income students and their families with school supplies and community resources.

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson announced the 29th Annual Back to School Fair, set for Aug. 1, offering school supplies and health services to Dallas ISD students. Registration starts today.
