The 31-year-old was understandably excited about the win and moments after taking the checkered flag climbed out of his car and stood on the door. With a contingent of fans booing, Wallace put his finger up to his mouth in a gesture of silencing the crowd.

The win puts Wallace in the third starting spot for the Daytona 500, a race he’s never won but twice finished runner up.

Bubba Wallace earned himself a win in the Duels at Daytona. It was a great start to the Daytona 500 week for the driver. Afterward, Wallace delivered that trophy by hand to his NASCAR team owner, Michael Jordan.
