The Cardinals have tried to trade the third baseman all offseason, and apparently he's tried to work with them more in order to facilitate a deal.

Juan Soto set a record for a professional athlete by signing a 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets in December, but he revealed he had larger offers.

The Mets would certainly be smart to add some pitching to compensate for their injured starters. Dylan Cease was seemingly available for some time. However, Jon Heyman of the New York Post revealed a recent update that will disappoint Mets fans.

However, the Cardinals' opportunity to shed payroll could occur at this summer's trade deadline. A St. Louis fan favorite is already being mentioned as a potential option for the New York Mets.

The former Met began the final year of his contract in St. Louis with two scoreless innings and a brief look at a new cutter and curve.

The St. Louis ... believe the Cardinals are open to the move, and Fedde knows it's possible." Perhaps if the Cardinals want to trade Fedde, they could send him to the New York Mets.
