The Yankees had Judge rated as an above-average defender when they drafted him in 2013 out of Fresno State, where he played almost exclusively in centerfield. Already a good defender, Judge went about making himself better as a professional, starting in the minor leagues, even as the homers began flying out ballparks everywhere.
