Concrete fell on cars inside of the Prudential Tunnel in Boston Friday afternoon. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said two left lanes were closed. Officials said the lane closures are due to the debris in the roadway.

Concrete debris fell from the Prudential Tunnel in Boston Friday afternoon, hitting several vehicles. State Police said the debris fell into the left and middle travel lanes in the tunnel on the westbound side of the Mass Pike. All traffic on the westbound side of the Mass Pike is being diverted while the debris is removed.

State highway officials are conducting emergency inspections of the Prudential Tunnel in Boston after chunks of concrete fell onto the roadway Friday afternoon.
