Terrorists in explosive vests have reportedly threatened Pakistan train passengers' lives if officials refuse to release imprisoned militants.

Security forces killed 10 terrorists on Thursday who attacked a checkpost in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Jandola area, according to a statement from the interior ministry. According to the statement, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to security forces for repelling the attack.

The Pakistani government, facing a widening security crisis in the country’s restive southwest, has given little indication it intends to negotiate with the militants.
