Hundreds of thousands of people descended on Serbia's capital on Saturday to protest over the deaths of 15 people in a railway station collapse. While the government put attendance at 107,000 across Belgrade, an independent monitor said 325,000 - if not more - had gathered, making it Serbia's largest protest ever.

Tens of thousands of protesters filled the streets of Serbia’s capital over the weekend, the culmination of more than four months of demonstrations against the government of President Aleksandar Vucic and what they see as its slow response to a deadly train station collapse in November.

The rally was part of a nationwide anti-corruption movement that erupted after a concrete canopy collapsed at a train station in Serbia's north in November, killing 15 people.
