Los Angeles Lakers president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka said he'll also be focused on adding to the defensive core of the roster.

Pelinka revealed that the Lakers knew they had a problem after letting go of Davis as their big man. Management identified the gap on the roster and pursued seven-footer Mark Williams, who could help them significantly on the defensive end of schemes.
