When New Yorkers fill out ballots in Tuesday’s mayoral primary, they’ll be able to choose more than just one candidate.

Ranked-choice voting could once again decide New York City’s mayoral primary, four years after the process was slow and marred by a major tabulation error.

New York City Comptroller and mayoral candidate Brad Lander was released from federal custody Tuesday afternoon, hours after he was arrested by officers at immigration court in Manhattan after he tried to escort a migrant whom officers were attempting to arrest.

A video of the arrest, captured by a reporter, shows a federal agent telling New York City Comptroller Brand Lander, “You’re obstructing.”

Waymo, the self-driving car unit of Google parent Alphabet, is returning to New York City. But it won’t be offering rides to the paying public yet, as it currently does in four other cities. The company announced Wednesday that it has applied for a permit with the New York City Department of Transportation for its vehicles to operate autonomously with a “trained specialist” behind the wheel in Manhattan.
