LeBron James suffered a left knee injury after colliding with the Minnesota Timberwolves' Donte Dincenzo during the Los Angeles Lakers' season-ending Game 5 loss on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin. The injury is a Grade 2 MCL sprain with an anticipated recovery time of between three and five weeks, per McMenamin.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is the oldest player in the NBA. At age 40, the future Hall of Fame forward realistically only has a few years of high-level basketball left in the tank.

Lakers coach JJ Redick said James’ hip injury typically has a recovery period of 1-2 weeks. James scored 38 points in the Game 3 road loss to the Timberwolves on April 25, exactly two weeks after suffering the injury. He was also sidelined for two weeks from early to mid-March because of a strained left groin.
