ICE officials and migrants deported to South Sudan face grave dangers including extreme heat, malaria exposure, and rocket attack threats while detained in converted shipping containers at a U.S. military base in Djibouti.

The Trump administration says migrants placed on a deportation flight originally bound for South Sudan are now being held in a converted shipping container on a U.S. naval base in Djibouti, where the men and their guards are contending with baking hot temperatures,

The deportees are stuck in Djibouti amid a legal fight over their expulsions. A lawyer for some of the men said she was concerned for their health and welfare.
