Keir Starmer is heading to Brussels, becoming the first British prime minster to attend a European Union leaders’ meeting since the U.K. left the bloc five years ago

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer say he will seek a strong trade relationship with the U.S. after President Donald Trump suggested he would slap Europe with tariffs after hitting America’s biggest trading partners with import taxes.

The new American President said the UK was "out of line" and claimed levies "might happen", before targeting the EU, who could expect something "soon".
