There was widespread surprise when news leaked out that Dan Bylsma, who helped fortify the Kraken’s farm system, would only get one season as the coach of the big club.

The Kraken are seeking their third head coach in as many seasons after firing Dan Bylsma. More moves are expected, including Ron Francis to president and Jason Botterill to GM.

The Kraken regressed after Bylsma took over for Dave Hakstol, who coached them for their first four seasons of existence and got them to the playoffs in 2023.
