Air India is in talks with U.S. planemaker Boeing to acquire around 10 737 MAX jets after Chinese customers started rejecting deliveries amid a trade war with the United States, two people familiar with the discussions told Reuters.

The ongoing trade tensions between the US and China, marked by steep duties above 100%, have impacted various sectors, even the aviation industry has taken a hit.

Air India is in talks with Boeing to acquire approximately 10 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, initially intended for Chinese clients who declined delivery due to trade tensions with the U.S. This potential acquisition would bolster Air India Express's fleet and support the airline's expansion plans.
