According to the University of Kansas Athletics program, Jayhawks head coach Bill Self underwent a heart procedure on Thursday. He felt ill earlier in the day and went to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for a minor surgery, where he had two stents inserted.

Kansas basketball coach Bill Self was released from Lawrence Memorial Hospital on Saturday, two days after having two stents inserted into his heart to treat blocked arteries.

Bill Self is undeniably one of the best coaches in college basketball. Unfortunately, health issues have plagued him for the last few years. In 2023, Self was unable to coach the Kansas Jayhawks during the NCAA Tournament.

Kansas basketball’s preparations for the season have continued on the court, and in recruiting. KU just announced it has signed of Nginyu Ngala.

The College Basketball season hasn’t even started yet, but it seems like Kansas Jayhawks coach Bill Self is more than ready to watch his players take the court right now.
