LINCOLN — “Open for Business: A Nebraska Women in Agripreneurship Series” will feature Our Lavender Co., a family farm near Big Springs, during its next live webcast at 6:30 p.m.

In 2004, about a year after investing in 40 acres of land on Horton Bay Road N., the Longworths decided to start planting lavender on their new property in the fields behind the barn.

Dan and Cyndi Smith’s lavender business, Peace, Love and Lavender, will have its grand opening from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday near Johnson Lake.

Lavender Fields also has stands at seven local farmers markets, including Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Milton, Bethany Beach, Milford, Nassau Valley and Garden Shack Farm in Lewes.
