Girls Basketball: West Central Area shuts down No. 1 seed Goodhue in Class A State Tournament semifinal
MINNEAPOLIS – The West Central Area girls basketball team made history on Thursday, winning its first-ever state tournament game, beating Crowell-Wright 61-54. The Knights set their sights on making more history on Friday with a win over the defending Class A state champion Goodhue in the state tournament semifinals.

The West Central Area girls basketball team has accomplished something no other Knights’ programs have been able to: win a state title. WCA thumped MACCRAY, 58-41, in the matinee Class A state championship on Saturday before a boisterous crowd at Williams Arena. The state title is Knights’ first in two appearances, the previous coming in 2021.
