San Diego Padres stars Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado were among players seen helping family members and fans into shelter at Nationals Park as a shooting unfolded outside the ballpark.

The San Diego Padres beat the Washington Nationals Sunday in a game that was suspended in the sixth inning Saturday night after three people were shot outside the Washington, D.C., ballpark.

"Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the incident outside Nationals Park," the team tweeted. San Diego was up 8-4 and taking the field when the game was stopped.
