“Dear Lord, we came here today sorrowing over the loss of our fellow officer, our mentor, our friend, Hector Cuevas,” Chaplain Rick Stonestreet said as the service began. “Thank you for an example of a life well-lived. Also for a family that has lost a son, a brother, a father, a husband, and most of all, a Christian.”

Mourners gathered at the Ontario Convention Center to honor the life of the deputy, who was killed in a crash during a pursuit in Victorville on March 17.
