Increasing temperatures and a slower start to the wet season are creating an increased wildfire risk throughout Florida.

As of Friday, April 25, there were 96 wildfires burning across Florida, burning 3,832 acres. Eighteen counties have issued burn bans, up two from April 24. The mean statewide drought index has jumped to 444.
