Pope Francis' condition has improved as doctors upgraded his prognosis, saying the 88-year-old is no longer in imminent danger from the double pneumonia that has kept him hospitalized for almost a month.

Doctors are still cautious and have decided to keep him hospitalized for several more days to receive treatment, not to mention a period of rehabilitation he will likely need.

Vatican officials say that Pope Francis's medical condition has improved and that he is currently “out of danger from death," as of Monday evening.
