Scores of pastors, priests, and Christians of all denominations reacted harshly to Trump's decision to pick Paula White to lead the White House Faith Office.

President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that he would create a new White House Faith Office and named television evangelist Rev. Paula White to lead it. Trump shared the news while speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., where faith leaders and bipartisan members of Congress gathered for the annual event.

The three-times-married billionaire signed an executive order on Friday to open a "Faith Office" at the White House, led by the televangelist Paula White, Trump's so-called spiritual advisor. A day earlier Trump had unveiled a task force under new Attorney General Pam Bondi to root out what he called the "persecution" of Christians in the United States.

President Donald Trump has named key advisors to lead the newly established White House Faith Office. Pastor Paula White-Cain will serve as Senior Advisor. Known for her global humanitarian work, White-Cain previously advised Trump on faith initiatives and chaired his Evangelical Advisory Board.

Trump directed the office to identify ways to reduce burdens on the free exercise of religion and direct all federal agencies to designate a “faith liaison” within 90 days.
