Northern Lights tonight? G2 Geomagnetic Storm Warning in effect
The NOAA NWS Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a G2-level Geomagnetic Storm Warning. It lasts until around 2 a.m. Auroras could be visible from Idaho to New York, the federal agency said. This puts Michigan and other Great Lakes states right in the path for Northern Lights to appear.
However, it's also possible that we will receive more powerful G2 conditions according to Skov, in these instances northern lights are possibly visible as far south as New York and Idaho.
