NPR and several member stations are suing the Trump administration over an executive order directing the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to stop funding NPR and PBS.

PBS filed a federal lawsuit Friday asking a court to block the May 1 executive order by the Trump White House to cut off funding to public media, calling the move a violation of the First Amendment.

The order, PBS says, will “upend public television,” which for decades has aired shows like “Sesame Street,” “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” and “Frontline.”
