The nation's top weather agency announced last week that it expects up to 19 named storms to form in the Atlantic basin during the 2025 hurricane season. Significant research and technological advancements have made annual forecast by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration even more reliable.

Both the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Colorado State University (CSU) hurricane researchers are predicting an above-normal Atlantic hurricane season for 2025, citing warmer-than-average ocean temperatures and other atmospheric factors.
