The North Carolina Department of Transportation is studying a highway corridor project that would directly connect Greensboro to Fayetteville.

The Fairview Road to Tunnel Road stretch opened in late January. Roberts, along with NCDOT construction teams and traffic services, oversaw NCDOT operations in the corridor, according to NCDOT.
