Rosa, the Monterey Bay Aquarium's oldest resident sea otter who helped raise 15 stranded pups during her time at the aquarium, died Wednesday, it was announced on social media.
According to the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s website, the bay is currently host to about 3,000 otters. Sea otters have the thickest fur of any mammal, with up to one million hairs per square inch.
